Side Channel Pump

The Petroland PS pump is a self-priming side-channel pump capable of transferring both fluids and gas, and operates at a low noise level. PS pumps are used for the trouble-free pumping of clean liquids in situations where suction side conditions are unfavorable. They are also ideal for applications requiring a positive suction head of less than 0.5 meters.

PS pumps offer optimal solutions for liquefied gases, liquids under vapor pressure, refrigerants, and especially PS applications. The side channel design bridges the hydraulic performance gap between positive displacement pumps and centrifugal pumps.

Fully open “star” impellers, interacting with the side channel casing, provide a significant energy transfer to the pumped liquid or liquid-gas mixture. The resulting pressure increase (pump head) can reach 5 to 10 times that of a similarly sized centrifugal pump operating at the same speed.
