Features and Advantages
- PD Series internal gear pumps are a durable and efficient pump solution that adapts to different applications with a wide range of housing options. Thanks to its two moving parts, it offers ease of use and maintenance. Its bidirectional operation allows both filling and emptying operations to be performed with a single pump. The low NPSHr value minimizes the risk of cavitation, while the adjustable clearance structure ensures effective transfer over a wide range of fluids, from low to high viscosity.
- With various material combinations, seal types, and coupling options, it offers solutions tailored to every application. The positive displacement principle ensures a constant flow rate unaffected by pressure changes. The 360° rotatable housing provides mounting flexibility, while ease of service, self-priming capability, and optional heating/cooling jackets make the pumps more functional.
Working Principle
- PD Series internal gear pumps draw fluid from the suction line using a vacuum effect and direct it between the rotor gear and the idler gear. The orange arrow in the image shows both the direction of fluid movement and the direction of pump rotation.
- The fluid entering the pump moves in the same direction as the gears rotate. The crescent-shaped section between the suction and discharge lines acts as a seal, controlling the flow of fluid. This prevents fluid mixing and maintains the pump’s efficiency.
- The fluid, propelled by the gear action, is discharged when it reaches the discharge line. This ensures a continuous and stable flow, resulting in a reliable pumping operation with high efficiency.
